press 2017 Von Haus zu Haus from March 30, 2017 Exhibition Carlo Büchner Raiffeisenbank 2017 ___________________________________________________ Big nose, clear image Gundelfingen (hvg). The live demonstration at the opening of Carlo Büchner's caricatures proved that the artist actually begins to draw his figures from the nose. Perhaps for this reason, an oversized olfactory organ has become his trademark.   “Ray” has a big nose. Günter Netzer too. Arnie Schwarzenegger too. And even Till Schweiger. And all those who fall under the pen of Carlo Büchner and are therefore “Ray-like”. Nose is big, the trademark is Büchner-Art: Carlo Büchner Art exists as a real company. The artist, who was born in Emmendingen, has been trading like this since 2008 and proves in the presentation of his “portfolio”: The range of his skills is not small and neither begins nor ends with throwing a few strokes and lines on the paper, from which an image can be recognized and a message can be read leaves. In good Baden style, for example, he reproduced the Freiburg Minster using “conventional” technique using an A2-sized pencil in such a way that every traditionalist art teacher’s heart would melt. Carlo Büchner illustrates in his work how much art is inherent in overstretching and crossing genre and taste boundaries. He is a caricaturist as well as an illustrator, writes and designs animated films, poetry and advertising and also works as a cabaret artist. He has created a solid foundation for this: by his own admission, he was already “drawing recognizable shapes with a ballpoint pen on carbon paper at the tender age of four”. Growing up, he studied in Freiburg at the Academy of Communication with, among others, Beuys student Michael Ryba. During productions he met celebrities such as Otto Waalkes and Udo Lindenberg, and he portrayed a number of celebrities; A Bud Spencer and an Elton John portrait can be seen in the Raiffeisenbank exhibition. “We express our social commitment in numerous donations for many socially oriented clubs and institutions,” said board member Markus Hagen at the opening of the exhibition, “but also through cultural events. It can be abstract, realistic or humorous art.” He denied that Büchner’s “Ray,” with its unmistakable nose and invisible head of hair, could bear any resemblance to a speaker of that day and, amid laughter from the audience, he let the artist have the floor. He demonstrated his cabaret talent in a humorous speech and gave a quick course in caricature drawing. It is not uncommon for his works to attract attention and amusement by taking language literally and bringing it into the picture 1:1. The implementation of the common advertising slogan of a well-known beverage manufacturer proves this. If you need cash or advice, you can find both at Raiffeisenbank Gundelfingen. There’s also a lot to laugh about in her strategy house these days. The visit is therefore worth it in several ways. ___________________________________________________ fudder.de from January 23, 2017 Report on United Charity Auction Painting ‘Bud Spencer’ 2017 ___________________________________________________ This artist is auctioning off Bud Spencer portrait - the money goes to the Freiburg University Children's Hospital Anyone who wants to hang the most powerful of all film stars on their wall now has the chance: the South Baden artist Carlo Büchner has painted a portrait of Bud Spencer - and is auctioning it off online to donate the money. It is not the first picture that Carlo Büchner painted of Bud Spencer. In 2010 he had already portrayed the Italian, with whom he not only shares the first name Carlo - Bud Spencer was called Carlo Pedersoli in real life. “I always had a relationship with him and his films,” says Büchner. The picture, created in 2010, ended up in Bud Spencer's hands via a few detours, after which Carlo Büchner decided to paint another picture and auction it off for the benefit of the Freiburg Children's Cancer Clinic. Bud Spencer is best known for his action comedies, in which he plays a stubborn but good-natured character who fights his way through the world alongside Terrence Hill. “Terrence Hill has already visited the Freiburg clinic, so there is a direct connection to the facility,” says Büchner. Bud Spencer died in 2016, so the picture is also a homage. Portraits of Udo Lindenberg and Robin Williams It is the third time that Carlo Büchner has auctioned off one of his pictures for the children's cancer clinic. With portraits of Udo Lindenberg and Robin Williams, he collected over 2,000 euros for the facility in previous years. 30-year-old Carlo Büchner comes from Sexau and studied graphic design in Freiburg at the Academy for Communication. He draws cartoons, portraits and caricatures, writes poetry and illustrates books and posters.
